Takeaways from the 2021 HR Technology Conference and Exposition

Posted October 8th, 2021

For the first time since 2019, we returned to live conferences. Amidst happy reunions, the 2021 HR Technology Conference and Exposition got underway. We were thrilled to be there, to see everyone in person and to connect and share ideas with industry leaders.

The general themes of sessions and discussions all seemed built upon by the effects of the pandemic. Topics like The Great Resignation and Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DE&I), were prevalent as well as a strong theme of leadership and how important good leaders are at this time.

The Expo Hall saw a Pub Crawl, a Pitchfest and a slew of both seasoned professionals and newbies sharing information on HR products and services that every recruiter has on their wish lists.

We were happy to see everyone and to swap stories and experiences of the past year and a half. We easily made the transition into discussing our products and services because the popularity and demand for automation in recruiting are at an all-time high.

Perhaps filled with a little survivors’ guilt, recruitment technology, especially automation, has thrived in these trying times. But in reality, guilt isn’t exactly correct, because we genuinely believe our recruitment automation products have greatly helped recruiters during this era and will do more good in the wake of the pandemic, with high numbers of candidates and even more jobs to fill.

Talent and job volumes

Talent acquisition professionals will become very familiar with high-volume recruiting if they haven’t encountered it already. Our products were built for this. The automated candidate data management functions within DaXtra Capture coupled with the search and match capabilities of DaXtra Search Nexus are a force to be reckoned with and are the dynamic duo of high-volume recruiting.

DaXtra Capture allows you to build bigger, better talent pools, complete with clean, current, structured data. In the process it shapes your database into a valuable company asset.

Because the data is structured and clean, your database is now easily searchable. Working within your system, DaXtra Search Nexus can search over it and online sources in one action, speeding the sourcing process exponentially. With all of the added features Nexus brings, you can find the unicorns and purple squirrels before anyone else.

This recruitment process automation decreases time to hire allowing you your choice of the best talent out there.

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

DE&I was also a topic on point at HR Tech, touched upon by both Keynote speakers Josh Bersin and Amy Wambach, who requested the audience fix and use technology to make workplaces more inclusive. A unique capability our products bring has to do with skills-based hiring and the DE&I aspects of it, so we feel we’re helping the process along.

By using semantic intelligence, Nexus searches and ranks talent based on skill and qualification. Information like names, that can play into gender and ethnicity bias; dates, that play into age bias; locations, that play into demographic bias; university or affiliations that can play into many unconscious biases are all redacted, leaving the recruiter to pass judgment purely on skill and qualification in this initial stage of the hiring process. This information can be passed on to the hiring manager using DaXtra Styler to redact fields that may lead to biased decisions.

If these takeaways struck a note with you and you’re interested in learning more about how DaXtra solutions can work to improve your workflows decreasing time to hire and mitigating unconscious bias don’t hesitate to reach out to us via our Contact Form.
